The UK Union is like a marriage and the divorce proceedings will fairly straight forward. As Scotland is due an eleventh of the UK's assets based on population. However based on financial input into the Union, Scotland has a very good claim on more than this eleventh share. As in the last 30 years Scotland has contributed more than £275 Billion in oil revenues. In the last four years the Scottish Economy contributed + £3.5 Billion to the Union whilst the UK economy as a whole lost - £72.5 Billion. The other factor in Scotland's favour is that all the UK's nuclear submarines soon all to be based at Faslane Scotland. Despite the powers that be in Davenport Plymouth recently producing inaccurate evidence regarding the deep water in that part of the Country. In a failed attempt to get the entire submarine fleet moved South of the border. Scotland will also have the best lawyers in Europe on its side as Europe will be keen to have Scotland with its abundant oil, gas, fresh water and green energy staying within the European Union. Therefore the EU will be bending over backwards to stop Scotland leaving Europe, which is a very real possibility. Consequently Scotland will be in powerful position to alter some of the mad laws and infringements of our rights that Tony Blair and Labour unwittingly signed us up for. |

Why then did Hamish Morrison, the Scottish Fishermen's Federation chief executive, say that although the boundaries became law a month ago, the federation had not been informed about the decision and there had been no effort made by the government to consult with the organisation on the matter. Full transcript of fishing / oil debate 26 April 2000 after the secret order was passed without consultation. |

The good news for Scotland is that in the past Scotland broke free from England thanks to William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. Therefore her laws and establishments have retained their Independence. The ones we share with the rest of the UK are shared under the remit of Queen Elizabeth the First of Scotland. Who will also be in a difficult situation when she needs to tread carefully when monitoring the divorce proceedings between Scotland and the rest of the UK as not to risk her monarchy. As Scots may very well be given the opportunity to vote on whether to leave the EU and abolish the Monarchy. The next Holyrood election, set for 11th MAY 2011. Scotland should get more than 50% of her population voting for parties that are pro independence. Parties the like the SNP, the Scottish Socialists (who have the left wing values Labour used to have) and the Scottish Greens. Then who knows will the other Celtic nations of Ireland and Wales may also demand referendums on whether they wish to stay with England and her ego and ever sinking economy?
